Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
ClaimHaq () is a private firm in Chandigarh that helps people with insurance claims. We decide how your information is used, so we are responsible for it. Contact: .
What we collect
- What you type in the Claim Check: your name, mobile number and whether you use WhatsApp, the type of insurance, what happened, whose policy it is (and the policyholder's name, if it's a family member's), the date on the insurer's letter and the language you prefer.
- Papers you send us on WhatsApp, by email or at our office, such as the insurer's letter, your policy and hospital papers. These can include health information. The website itself never asks you to upload papers.
- Messages and calls between you and us, and the notes and dates we record about your case.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your language choice, and the last case you opened, are saved only on your own device. Tap "Check a different case" on the case page to remove it.
Your case page
Your case page shows only the status, key dates, the list of papers we need and our updates. It never shows your name, number or papers. Anyone who has your case link can open it, so share the link only with family you trust. If you think someone else has it, ask us and we'll replace it.
Why we use it
- To read your case, call you and tell you what we think.
- If you hire us, to take up your complaint with the insurer, IRDAI, the Insurance Ombudsman or a consumer commission, and to send our invoice.
We use your information only with your consent, which you give on the Claim Check form. We never sell it.
Who we share it with
- The insurer, the Insurance Ombudsman, IRDAI or a consumer commission, only when you ask us to act on your claim.
- Companies that run our systems for us, such as our cloud database and document storage providers and WhatsApp, only to provide that service.
- Anyone the law requires us to share it with.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Your case details are stored with our cloud database provider on servers in India. The papers you send are kept in our team's secure document storage, which only our team can open. Messages and papers sent on WhatsApp also pass through WhatsApp (run by Meta). WhatsApp and our document storage may keep data outside India. If we don't take your case, we delete your papers within 90 days of telling you. If we do, we keep your file until the case closes and then for up to 3 years, unless the law requires longer.
Your rights
- Ask what information we hold about you and who we've shared it with.
- Ask us to correct or complete it.
- Withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your information. We'll stop and delete it, except what the law requires us to keep.
- Nominate someone to use these rights for you if you can't.
- Complain to us. We reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp or email .
